At ABP we’ve forged a reputation over sixty years for quality and innovation, supplying to our retail, foodservice and manufacturing customers, including multiple Michelin Star restaurants. We are committed to supporting British agriculture and work with over 12,000 farming families across the UK each year.
We are passionate about helping farmers meet the demands of consumers to produce high quality British beef by maintaining high animal welfare and an efficient, sustainable production system. In 2019, ABP became one of the first agrifood businesses to commit to science based climate targets. Since then we have embarked on a number of projects with a view to reducing across the supply chain. One example is our landmark Programme for the Improvement of Sustainability in (red) Meat (PRISM 2030). Launched last year, PRISM is driving change across the industry with 350 UK farmers working through the programme to calculate, monitor and reduce their farm carbon emissions whilst also improving production efficiency, biodiversity, soil quality, water and animal health and welfare. The successes, challenges and learnings of working though PRISM will be shared with farmers across the country. Harper Adams University and farm consultants Andersons are helping deliver the programme to participating farmers.
We are proud to continue our support as a long-standing sponsor for the British Cattle Breeders Club and their annual conference. It’s important to have a platform to share and learn best practices and the BCBC Conference is a key industry forum for this exchange.
“The BCBC conference is not only a great opportunity to network but also to share knowledge with other people who are passionate about the beef and dairy sectors and what we can all do to increase efficiencies and profitability whilst reducing our impact on the environment which is at the forefront of global consciousness.” – Richard Phelps. ABP UK Agriculture Director, Managing Director of Blade Farming.
